Relocation:

dew moveOur relocation program is designed to return historic homes once slated for demolition into affordable housing for Houston. Through collaboration with neighborhood associations, community and faith-based organizations, city housing departments and private individuals this program offers an economically sound solution for preserving these homes and a wonderful tool for neighborhood revitalization and community development.

Salvage:

salvageOnly in cases where relocation of the house is not feasible will Historic Houston consider salvage of the historic building materials for our Salvage Program. With an estimated 75 TONS of building materials going into landfills as result of demolition each year, Historic Houston is committed to salvaging and recycling historic building materials as an economical and environmentally sound alternative for restoring older houses while protecting the environment.

Landmark Plaque:

landmark plaque To increase public recognition for historic preservation Historic Houston, is providing on behalf of the Planning and Development Department, a medallion plaque for City of Houston designated historic landmark buildings.
